A FEW UPDATES

The new name of the CommUNITY Activities program is "SPARC"!! We'll discuss the new name, updates to our website, recent outreach meetings (including the Concord Public Library, 21C and Ascentria), progress on City Council approval of SPARC funding, volunteer recruitment, and more at our meeting tomorrow night!

Friends-a-Palooza

FKP at Friends-a-Palooza was a huge success!!!

• A GIANT thank you to Katie Midolo and youth hosts Gigi, Nicki, and Junior for all their hard work on a hot day yesterday...you rocked it!

• 22 new families signed up for the SPARC mailing list

• 8 new volunteers signed up for info on how to become SPARC volunteers

• Several community agencies discussed collaborating with SPARC and are interested in coming to a session this winter to do an enrichment activity with participants!

We asked kids for their activity ideas for the program and to vote on their top choices. Here are the top five for each category:

Art & Games activities:

BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT - August 20th

FKP and 21C are looking for volunteers to help host kids activities at the Concord School District Back to School event at Keach Park on August 20th - please let us know if you can pitch in at friendsofkeachpark@gmail.com!!

Concord Area Providers Network (CAP) Meeting

The Concord Area Providers Network (CAP) Monthly Meeting will be held on August 23rd at 10am at Second Start (17 Knight St, Concord), Level 3, Room 30. If you provide services to, volunteer with, or want to get involved in serving Concord's New American and refugee communities, please join us!
